The Escape Of Massey Harbison
This Painting has been sold!
Imagine living in the year 1792 in Western Pennsylvania. Native warriors launch a surprise raid upon a humble log cabin killing and capturing. A young mother, Massey Harbison, was captured and miles later managed an escape with one surviving baby. Her miraculous travels and eventual return is a story that would make a great documentary. “The Escape of Massey Harbison” is a painting depicting one event of her escape. Her baby whimpered and a warrior heard something and waited. She was discovered along the banks of the Allegheny River , naked, near death with her body covered with cuts and briars.
