Autumn Grouse
“Autumn Grouse” was a painting I entered in the Colorado Upland Bird Contest requiring a Ruffed Grouse be painted. I purposely omitted much detail in the background. I had hoped judges would like this attempt. The painting failed to win. $350.00
Lifting Fog
The painting, “Lifting Fog” is a painting of an actual area and an actual experience. I hunt this area often for those bronzed-back gobblers in the spring. I set there and was enthralled as the fog lifted off the field from the rising sun. I sketched the site and made some photos. This painting is the result. $350.00
Brown Trout #2
“Brown Trout #2” was entered earlier this year in the Delaware Trout Stamp. I failed to place with the painting, although I do like this one. Last year, I entered a brook trout and received an honorable mention. $350.00
Hints Of Light
In 2009, I was at the Cook Forest for a French & Indian War reenactment. On Sunday morning, I hiked the Longfellow Trial in my F&I dudes. I became mesmerized with the early morning sun filtering through the high canopy. I knew the painting, “Hints of Light” was to be made from this experience. I almost tramped on a fawn that June morning. (I did receive some stares from a couple of other hikers…they must have wondered what I was wearing?) $500.00
The Escape of Massey Harbison
This Painting has been sold!
Imagine living in the year 1792 in Western Pennsylvania. Native warriors launch a surprise raid upon a humble log cabin killing and capturing. A young mother, Massey Harbison, was captured and miles later managed an escape with one surviving baby. Her miraculous travels and eventual return is a story that would make a great documentary. “The Escape of Massey Harbison” is a painting depicting one event of her escape. Her baby whimpered and a warrior heard something and waited. She was discovered along the banks of the Allegheny River, naked, near death with her body covered with cuts and briars.

A wise deer hunter NEVER straps his rifle over his/her shoulder or places the firearm against a tree while watching for the quarry. A human cannot remove the rifle fast enough. A deer is fast! This art, “Snowy Surprise” shows such a scene as the nice buck sneaks in from behind and sees the hunter. The deer snorts loudly as he is out of sight in seconds. $450.00
